TIKANUI BEAST

This board is designed specifically for slabs and tubes. Tika rides them at 6-10ft Teahupoo. Tika pushes the limit out there so we need a board that can paddle extremely well but with strategically placed volume. Specifically, Tika did not want the board to feel too buoyant. Too much volume in the board reacts too on top of the water which in return tends to slide out in a steep face.

The staged rocker is just enough to fit in the transition taking off under the lip but flat enough for paddle glide. Wide point tugged a touch forward under the chest with a thin narrow tail to hold. Dan Boehne has developed a specific tucked bottom edge to hold the line you want.

This board is a custom only design as it is modified and tuned depending on the waves you are traveling to.
